Insight Meditation Community of Charlottesville (IMCC)

IMCC is an organization grounded in Buddhist teachings. We promote the development of wisdom and compassion and the well-being of all through the recognition of our deep interdependence. Buddhism offers a path out of suffering and into happiness by the cultivation of generosity, loving-kindness, and wisdom. To that end, we are also engaged in and support racial awareness training and acts of social justice.

We provide and promote a range of programs for new and experienced meditators:

  • Tuesday evening guided meditations and dharma talks
  • Noon meditation sits, daily on Zoom
  • Spiritual Friends (Kalyana Mitta) groups
  • Classes and retreats for beginners and experienced meditators
  • Mindful of Race training groups under the guidance of Ruth King, based on her book "Mindful of Race""
  • Archives of Audio dharma talks by our teachers and guest teachers
